Artist's info on exhibiting in SilverStone Gallery

Only PRAC (PineRidge Arts Council) members in good standing may submit artwork for display and sale in the SilverStone Gallery. Download pdf copy of the agreement here.

Artist’s Responsibilities

● The artist hereby releases and saves harmless Silverstone Paddle Company, SilverStone Gallery and PRAC, its directors and members from any claim or cost whatsoever resulting from the loss, theft or damage of artist’s property regardless of the cause of such loss, theft or damage.

● The artist shall be responsible for delivering artwork and removing artwork on dates requested by SilverStone Gallery

● Artwork must be original, thoroughly dry with wire attached for hanging. No saw hooks allowed.

● Artist must pick up their work on the date and time specified.

● 30% of the proceeds of all sales will be the commission charged on the sale

● Any government remittances are the responsibility of the artist

● Artist must supply an art inventory list (item #, title, size and medium) and jpeg image to go on website

● Artist to supply PRAC with a short bio two weeks before artwork is delivered to Gallery

● Artist must volunteer a specified number of hours monthly towards the operations of the SilverStone Gallery while their work is on display. The hours will depend on the number of artists who have work on display. No volunteer time, no exhibition space.

● Artists will also be encouraged to contact their mailing list (email | facebook | twitter | etc.) and include the SilverStone Gallery logo and link to the gallery on their website to promote their exhibition. Adding the time you will be in the gallery will be important to your clients.

Art work must be suitably presented (framed) and ready to hang.

The Director of SilverStone Gallery has final approval on which artists will be asked to exhibit, what artwork can be displayed and if framing and presentation is congruent with the Gallery’s standards and policies.

SilverStone Gallery’s Responsibility

● All sales will be handled by PRAC. Cash, Visa and debit cards will be accepted for payment of merchandise. PRAC will pay the artist the full amount of the sale, less 30% commission within 30 days.

● Gallery will arrange for artwork to be packaged upon sale of artwork

● Gallery will take all reasonable precautions to protect the artist’s work from damage, however, the Gallery shall not be responsible for any loss or damage that might occur to artist’s work

● Gallery shall maintain website presence of domain name SilverStoneGallery.org

● Gallery manager and board shall establish Gallery’s interior, storefront, procedures and standards as may be necessary to professionally represent the Gallery.

For March and April the Gallery will be open to the public

  • Thursday to Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

  • By appointment

In May 2011 we plan to open the gallery to the public

  • Thursday and Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.

  • Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

The PineRidge Arts Council is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to enhance the quality of life
within the community by developing widespread appreciation, support and involvement in the arts since 1989.

SilverStone Gallery's mission is to enhance the status and reputation of the SilverStone Gallery through promotion
and marketing of the gallery and member artists, and contribute to the fabric of the arts in the community
through co-operation, encouragement and professionalism.

SilverStone Gallery's objective is to build a community of emerging and established artists and develop a following
of supporters to achieve the goal of establishing an artists' co-operative.
